TAVI / Transcatheter Heart Valve Navigation and Positioning / C-THV

The Way to TAVI
The C-THV is a real-time angiography-based system, designed to facilitate Trans-catheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI).
The C-THV system supports the physician in all phases of the TAVI procedure: determining the optimal treatment projection, assisting in device size selection, tracking and positioning the device in real time, and post-deployment analysis of the deployed valve.
C-THV Benefits
The C-THV operates as a standalone PC workstation in the cath-lab. It connects to the C-arm and the hospital network for data acquisition, and its output is viewed on designated monitors placed in the control room and the interventional suite. It interfaces with the hospital PACS and enables report distribution and archiving. |
Optimal Projection
Determining the optimal projection for deployment is essential for accurate positioning of the prosthetic valve. TheC-THV finds the best angle in which the annulus is perpendicular to the valve. While offering optimal treatment angle, the C-THV offers a practical approach that saves time, and may reduce the need for extra contrast media use. C-THV recommends a series of available optimal projections, making it easier for the physician to choose his best preferred working projection.
Based on two aortograms, the system offers a series of suitable angles. In each, the plane of the aortic annulus is seen edge on. The physician can select his preferred optimal treatment projection. The OP function of the C-THV software was found accurate in clinical practice and when compared with CT data.* "Optimal Projection Estimation for Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation Based on Contrast Aortography: Validation of a Prototype Software” Presented at ICI 2009 and submitted for publication in CCI.
